Summary:
Buyer
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, places orders for varieties of materials/supplies, usually with established vendors.
Interviews or contacts supplier salespersons, and secures bids.
May expedite the filling of orders by suppliers to meet production.
Substitutes items within pre-approved guidelines.
Has authority to commit company to purchases within a minimum set dollar amount as established by management.
Planner
Responsibilities:
Maximizes production capacity by establishing, adjusting and monitoring production schedules consistent with master schedules.
Works on tasks and instructions associated with processes and/or equipment to be used for sequence of operations to meet needs for finished goods.
Revises and reschedules orders to meet production requirement.
Identifies, locates and evaluates alternate sources of supply to facilitate cost competitiveness.
May recommend new developments in materials and supplies and on improving quality and cost of purchases.
Combined duties:
Liaison between inside sales, internal production processes and customers regarding order compliance, processing, changes, modifications and delivery of sales orders.
Coordinates information between departments regarding product application and customer requirements.
Handles special projects, as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities Timely replenishment of Forum products to all domestic distribution centers.
Validate and process suggested replenishment recommendations for Forum distribution as far out as product lead time dictate.
Assist with providing replenishment metric reporting for the company.
Provide feedback to the Forecast Manager on product mix changes experienced in domestic distribution replenishment.
Coordinate timely replenishment to all domestic consignment agents that stock Forum products.
Use your unique position as the center of communications about a product line to contribute to the strategic plan for a product line or process.
Lead the spread of best practices in the supply chain by recognizing significant improvement in and out of our organization.
Develop and lead project teams to implement change.
Job Requirements Skills/Knowledge Good communication skills.
Good negotiation skills.
Basic analytical skills.
Basic knowledge of production process and flow throughout the manufacturing shop.
Education High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience 3
years of applicable experience.
