They have experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures.
They must be reliable and deft as well as possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and filling holes or cracks - Making on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
- Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes - Reading blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary - Use power tools and equipment such as brushes, rollers, sprayers, and ladders - Build scaffolding and set up drop cloths to protect surrounding areas - Repair or replace damaged drywall, plaster, siding, or woodwork - Assist with general labor tasks on construction sites as needed -Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a painter or laborer in the construction industry - Knowledge of construction painting techniques and materials - Proficiency with power tools and equipment used in painting and construction - Basic skills in frame carpentry, welding, stucco application, and construction estimating - Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand color theory for accurate paint matching - Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team - High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship Note:
