Responsibilities:
- Operate powdercoating equipment including spray guns, booths, and ovens - Prepare metal surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, degreasing, and masking as necessary.
- Mix and prepare powder coating materials according to manufacturer instructions.
- Apply powder coating evenly and accurately to achieve desired thickness and finish.
- Monitor oven temperatures and curing times to ensure proper adherence and finish.
- Inspect coated surfaces for defects, such as runs, uneven coverage, drips and make adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of materials and tools.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with production teams to prioritize workload and meet production schedules.
- Communicate with customers on job requirements.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a powder coat technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of powder coating techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate small parts and operate equipment controls.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, noisy, and sometimes hot environment.
