The Safety Manager''s role is to identify, develop and implement company wide safety programs, processes and practices to reduce the frequency and severity of associate, third party and related injuries and to assure compliance with applicable safety regulations for all Doerle locations.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety.
Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
Ensures personnel corrective training and corrective action follow-up is completed
Develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
Conducts on-site reviews and audits of operations and all facilities.
Directs industrial hygiene, occupational, and general safety programs to ensure a safe environment and comply with safety standards
Investigates and evaluates new safety equipment for appropriateness.
Responds and provides assistance to all emergency situations
Makes regular quarterly reports to management on safety progress
Maintains accident record system, makes accident report, investigates accidents, and checks to see corrective action is taken.
Responsible for companywide workplace safety training; warehouse equipment operation training; and driver safety training program
Makes safety inspections for the purpose of discovering and correcting unsafe work practices before they cause accidents
Makes certain that federal, state, local laws or ordinances are complied with
Two plus years of safety manager experience
Knowledge and understanding of all OSHA laws a must
Understanding of worker''s comp procedures and guidelines
Experience with CDL driver safety training preferred
Excellent communication, interpersonal, training and analytical skills
PC skills to include, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Various safety certifications will be required.
