Under strict supervision, learns the job role for the Surface Data Logging (SDL) service line for the purpose of providing on-location geological data collection and reporting to the customer. Learns the basics of Drilling theory and is oriented into the understanding of mudlogging technique and job duties. Assists in gathering drilled cuttings by depth intervals. Assists in the transportation of these cuttings. Assists in keeping records of intervals transported. Assists in keeping work area clean. Performs assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Attends and completes induction courses as necessary. Completes training appointments as necessary to obtain offshore certificates, in order to be able to go offshore. Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Geology or related discipline. Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude to standards required. Must possess good communication skills, arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills required. Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements. Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude to standards required. Must be able to obtain relevant offshore certificates as required. This is the entry level position into the SDL service live for employees who have no experience in the petroleum or related industries. This is a field position. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines. Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.
Candidates must possess a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematical Degree.
Candidates must possess excellent communication, organizational, computer, and reporting skills along with a proactive attitude in service quality and HSE. Candidates must be able to work as team players along with DD, M/LWD, and SDL product lines. Candidates must be able to work unstructured work schedules on both land and offshore locations and be available for 24 callouts. SV09 entry level ADT Engineer typically provides on-site monitoring of the drilling process to insure drilling optimization including well bore integrity, hydraulics management, vibration monitoring and mitigation, and pre/post-run analysis. Serves as the second man in a subordinate role on select jobs after appropriate training. Provides technical and operational expertise to external customer in a professional manner.
